Zac kind of indicated that he used joint practices instead of playing guys in preseason. If that is true, it makes sense that if the vets are playing more early, they don't need that extra interaction.
Besides, last year in the joint practice with the Bears, they lost both Chris Evans and D'Ante Smith for the season
