This is naive. Even veterans try to avoid training camp because they aren’t at home simulating camp practices. That doesn’t mean they aren’t staying in shape.
And how many times have “pro” athletes acted unprofessionally?

It’s like claiming altitude should have no impact on pro athletes because they’re paid to be in shape which is simply not true.
