Per yahoo news the clause was "softened." Perfectly reasonable to have it in line with league norms. I'd be curious as to how much it was "softened." It sounds like Mr. Hiller did right by his client and helped players in general. I could've done without some of his and Stewart's comments, but I very much agree with only signing a contract that is in line with league norms for the 17th pick. Ownership gets to look like a pack of ineffectual skeezy weirdos for having tried to push for a more harsh clause only for their player to miss practice because of it. So I don't believe Brown and company when they say that it was all on the agent. Nor do I agree with the pissy, unprofessional tone that came out of the Stewart camp.
