When your wrists are rolling over on a 'level; swing', that bat is going to naturally raise up about 1/2 to 2/3 of an inch as it crosses the plate. When you are right on track to crush the ball with an accurate swing, but your timing is a fraction of a second late, you are going to be slightly under the ball.  The bat, which is not yet full speed, will still be angled to send the ball to the right side because your wrists haven't fully rolled yet.

This is also why Andrew Abbott is so awesome. You can correctly guess fastball on him and still be off because you were guessing 94 MPH and he gave you 95-96. Mostly good contact, but it only made it to the warning track. Better luck next time.
