Number 55 definitely got screwed, no doubt about it.
As for the NFL conspiracy theory conversation, I'm not on board with that. But it is possible for certain referees to be bought off or swayed. And in looking back at that Pitt / Bengal game, the little fat back judge seemed to be right in the thick of the controversy every time. I believe he not only threw both flags at the end of the game but also ruled the touchdown good for Martavius Bryant. Yeah, the one the NFL game back and said it was a no catch.... but couldn't overrule because it was inconclusive.
