Sounds to me like they used the paddles from the movie Dazed and Confused. I always thought that was pretty f'ed up!
Thank god we never got hazed like that in football. All the seniors made us do is spin around real fast hanging onto a football over our heads and then try to punt it after a couple minutes of spinning. All in good humor.
