Since being in the NFL, it took Zampese 18 years to become an offensive coordinator.

It took Zimmer 6 years to be a defensive coordinator.

But it took Zimmer 20 years to become a head coach.

So there's only a 2 year difference in your argument, so it's not "a lot longer".
