And there are tons of teams whose lgo has the team name instead. In baseball alone there are the Braves, White Sox, Mets, Orioles, Cubs, Twins, Brewers, Yankees, Giants, Cardinals, and Yankees

Atlanta has a letter A logo on their caps.
The Mets and Yankees both have NY logos.
The "C" for cubbies has a dual meaning for Chicago and Cubs.
The Brewers have an M logo.
The Giants have an SF logo.
The Cardinals have an STL logo.
Are you really going to pretend like most letter logos aren't based on the city? It's not even close. I get it though, you have to defend the Bengals from all attacks, no matter how small the gripe or trivial the complaint.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.
