Well soon as Pete kills 100,000 people and wastes a few trillion dollars of tax money I'll be the first to demand him being banned forever, but until then he belongs in the HOF.

Is Pete horrible for lying? Probably not since nearly everyone lies at some point. Plus, he is an addict. But he is still a dumb ass. Even his former teammates will tell you that he is not the sharpest tool in the shed. And that dumbassedness has brought him enemies over the years.

Should Pete be in the Hall of Fame? I think so. There are a lot of dumb asses in the HoF, so that shouldn't stop him. His on field stuff warrants inclusion. He is not because he voluntarily chose to take the ban and the guy he made the deal with died. That left an opening for his detractors to leak information that Pete believed would not be revealed at crucial times over the years.

Can you compare Rose to Bush? No. 'W' was elected into office. Twice. Bush is also a dumbass too and might deserve jail. But until you convince a majority of the people in the country of that, he'll grow old watching the cattle graze at his ranch in Texas.

Bottom line: They are both dumb asses. But Bush is a dumbass who can win a popularity contest.
