LaFell has had one "big" year in his career, and even that year he did not top 1000 yards.  He has 20 touchdowns in his entire career, barely more than an average of three per year.  I really like Eifert, but he has not shown himself to be durable.  Because of that, he barely has over 1000 yards for his entire career.  Who else on this roster is going to take some of the coverage away from Green?  Tate?  There is a reason he hardly sees the field as a receiver during his career.  Alford?  Maybe, but he was a seventh round draft pick for a reason.  It is not just listening to the media, this team has a big shortage when it comes to receivers...

They should have planned better and taken one much higher last year.  Now they are in a tough spot, so it really doesn't matter if they want to use a rookie or not... they are going to have to do so.
