But Roots is a true story, so I would think there isn't much to spin, and it was so well done first time - why not just re-air the the original? Has a mini series ever been remade? What did the people redoing Roots say they hoped to accomplish?

I'm thinking about rewriting the book. I'm gonna put my spin on it.
