I would have preferred they didn't all but tell us the Knights of the Vale would come to the rescue.
The part with Yara and Theon also could have been with held as a surprise. Another case where the foreshadowing wasn't really necessary and ruined the fun/surprise.
I just think that was really poor choices on the part of the writers. They spoiled their own thunder.
