Once again, you correlate showing up for games with winning.
Some of the most die-hard fans I know have never been to a game, either for financial reasons or because they enjoy watching it at home with friends or at a bar.

Growing up, I always cheered for them when I was little, but, as I began to play football, I only really followed college football because I just loved the way it was more pure football (the triple option was my favorite play in all of sports).
I even only played NCAA Football on things like Sega and Playstation.
After the wreck, once I got back into football after focusing on recovery for the first few years (around '01), I started loving the NFL and the Bengals again and they were my only team, college or pro.
