Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been posting much for the past week. I recently had to undergo extensive shoulder surgery to repair a lifetime of accumulated damages from athletics, strength training, and general life wear and tear. In all, 4 repairs were made. A mid-grade tear on the back side of the rotator cuff, repair of a "slap tear" of the labrum, reattachment of a torn ligament, as well as a cut and reattachment of the biceps tendon.
Today was my first follow up visit, post surgery. The Doc says that the surgery was a complete success, and that my range of motion was noteworthy for being just a week post op. I begin a rigorous physical therapy program, next week. Doc says that barring any sort of catastrophic event, I should be back to gym training in 12 weeks, and be able to resume competition in as little as 6 months.
It sucks, but I'm glad you got it taken care of.
I had the SLAP surgery, myself.
Like Gohards said, take it easy. (like you'll listen..lol)
I thought I was way ahead of the healing schedule and ended up taking a year to fully recover.
Recover safely and swiftly, my friend.
