Where do you get the idea that no HC can replace Lewis without a jaw dropping resume and have success ?
But there is a good reason that it is very rare for a HC to be fired after making the playoffs four years in a row. I'd be all for taking a chance on any random guy if our team was a mess, but it isn't. And there have been guys who won in their first season, but there have been many more guys who did not.
To me it comes down to this. If your team is a mess and your current coach is losing then it is acceptable to take a chance on an unknown, but if you are beating top teams and making the playoffs every year you don't replace your coach unless you have a proven upgrade.
