Legalize Marijuana...Medicinal uses for NFL?

A real head scratcher.

Bell played hard ball about the NFL leaking the news of his skipped tests, so Goodell cut him a deal to keep him from suing the NFL League office for damages in civil court, in all likelihood.

I don't blame Bell for pushing the issue about the leak, and I'm surprised no other player has tried it before.  Still, imo, that shouldn't get his suspension reduced and especially shouldn't keep him from getting a strike.  He is a repeat offender, including a DWI, and missed multiple tests.  He did the crime, so he should serve the full suspension and get the strike, but he should get paid from the league for leaking his info.

The hidden issue is Goodell doesn't want the fact that his office has been leaking info for years to make him look bad, so he cut Bell a great deal to drop that part of the issue rather than have it be a constant source of negative PR until the case is resolved.

The big problem is that it sets a bad precedent.  Do whatever drugs you want, change your #, skip all your drug tests, then appeal for a reduced suspension and no strike.
