Legalize Marijuana...Medicinal uses for NFL?

The attached link talks about the link between marijuana use and heart attacks, as well as tolerance to medical marijuana.  In some cases, using medical marijuana more than twice a month will result in increased tolerance.

The attached link talks about the %of medical marijuana users who are prescribed more than 5 g a day increasing 5% in one year's time.

Deals with a Harvard study into the regions of the brain controlling addictions.

OMG . . . you've got to be shitting me?

After reading through some of the first link and tracking the information to its sources, I assume you work in law enforcement, you haven't read or understand the source material, and you're only repeating what you have heard.

Okay, first link is a supplement site. It mentioned "case studies" note marijuana use prior to heart attacks. That doesn't prove a link between marijuana and heart attacks. It also mentioned increased systolic blood pressure and pulse. An OTC sudafed will do the same to BP and pulse.

Scroll down to tolerance. The first two studies are from 1968 and 1971. You can't read either study and the abstract for the second study noted there was conflicted data. One of them noted tolerance to marijuana's behavioral effects, but nothing to do with any kind of tolerance to any therapeutic effect. The other links I read talked about down regulation of receptors. However, none of the studies (and by none I mean not a single study) actually studied medical marijuana in a therapeutic setting to establish if it was or wasn't effective at treating a medical condition and if greater amounts of medical marijuana were needed over time to maintain the therapeutic effect. Down regulation of receptors doesn't automatically equate therapeutic tolerance to a medication. Hell, those studies don't even indicate what role those receptors play in ANY disease and what type of effect they produce clinically.

In other words, the tolerance effect isn't supported by the studies listed. Rather someone just baffled you with bullshit and you bought it hook, line, and sinker because you didn't bother to read the studies for yourself or you didn't understand them.

Which again underscores the point more research is needed and why law enforcement officials shouldn't be the gatekeepers to medical research.

I didn't get to the last two links after busying myself attempting to track down the source material, but even if they don't turn out to be more bullshit, the current legally available treatments cause tolerance and possibly addiction. So what is your point?  Marijuana is just as bad as what I can write a prescription for with my DEA license and medical credentials?
