The Avengers have enough brawn already that I don't mind Spider-Man being the scrawny agile guy he's meant to be. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think "buff" when I think of Spider-Man. Lean & toned, yes, but he's supposed to be 50 pounds smaller than Tony Stark (whose armor is responsible for the heavy lifting).
Anyway, I didn't see The Fault in our Stars (nor will I), so I don't know what advantages he may have over Butterfield other than the correct eye color. What I do know is that Orson Scott Card finally approved an Ender's Game movie after waiting 30 years for an actor with Asa's combination of youth and intelligence, which is a ringing endorsement in and of itself. And if he can't pull off the timing and wit needed while he's wearing the mask, I hope they have the sense to hire a voice actor. Garfield was a great Spider-Man and an awful Peter, and I think Asa is a perfect Peter. We just have to wait to see how well he pulls off Spider-Man. (Get it? "Pulls off"? Civil War joke? Aaaah)
Tone is a better word. Because of his abilities, he is naturally fit, but not "buff".
