Wow! Someone who wants to compare records when one team has existed for a much longer time.
We'll pretend (more on that?) it is the Browns who have.
Bengals first season was in 1968. If my count is correct that leaves Bengals with 14 playoff appearances and the Brownies 13 during the time the Bengals have existed. Okay, so the Browns didn't exist for 3 years. Don't worry, the Bengals certainly didn't pad those or any other numbers during that period.
Oh but wait, didn't the existing franchise that had all but one of those playoff appearance up and move? That means that the current mess that calls The Mistake by the Lake" home doesn't have a real connection to those past successes. Sure, the NFL can claim the era prior to the move is still valid for the current disaster of a team but simple reality is, there is no real connection between the 2 DIFFERENT teams.
Shall we compare what has happened since the Cleveland Dumpster Fires "re-entered" the league?
Go on, make yourself feel better by rejecting the reality of there being 2 unconnected teams called the Browns in the NFL. I've heard it. But just remember, trying to connect the 2 insults the living hell out of the previous team.
