Matt Ryan has a higher career passer rating than Dalton, he has been to an NFC Championship game and is now going to a Super Bowl, five times in his career he has thrown for more yards than Dalton's career high, he has a higher career TD percentage and a lower interception percentage.

Hard to argue that Ryan has had "one good year".
