Waiting on LB until mid rounds - check
Tall, long, big DEs that win more with power than speed - check
Not drafting a center until Day 3 - check
Drafting a CB far too early only to not play him for at least two years - check
My question though - If only Whitworth and DK re-sign, Zeitler walks, and Jones is released, who takes up the rest of the cap space? Whitworth and DK combined will make no more than $25 million for 2017. Likely more like $20-22 million. Adam Jones release frees up over $6.5 million in cap space. There should still be about $10-15 million in cap space even after the typical amount is reserved for injuries, draft picks, and PS.
Based on the mock of drafting Hunt in the 4th, I assume you expect Burkhead to leave in FA.
Based on Davis being drafted in the 1st, I assume you expect LaFell to leave in FA.
Taco Charlton and Daeshon Hall should mean that Hunt and Gilberry are also not returning.
Surely the likes of Peerman, Winston, Peko, and TJ Johnson won't add up to $10 million?
With taking Leggett, which TE do you remove? Kroft or Uzomah? Or do you remove Hewitt since he was so underutilized in the offense in 2016?
Yes I expect Burkhead to be signed by someone like the Ravens or Pats. I also believe Lafell will go somewhere else too, someone will offer him more than we will wanna pay.
Kroft and Uzomah have neither really shown a whole lot since we drafted them. I think whoever Leggett outperforms will be cut.
Hunt and Gilberry shouldnt be back but I wouldnt be surprised if 1 is not brought back. I think Peko will be back also but shouldnt. They should let Williams and Billings and the young guys play.
