I wouldn't get too upset if they drafted Howard in 1. He's one of the better TE prospects in recent memory and is extremely well-rounded. A weapon is a weapon in the passing game regardless of whether he has TE or WR after his name on the depth chart.

The beginning of this team's issues on offense is a shit run game. IMO the second most significant factor was relying on a crazy-talented Tyler Eifert to stay healthy and be the second elite pass catcher for Dalton. If he was available consistently, then perhaps we don't lament the departure of Jones or San nearly as much. Howard could go a long way in rectifying this problem should it arise again. It could also make it relatively easy to let Eifert walk when he becomes a free agent. It's tough to feel good about committing big money to a guy that misses as many ballgames as he doesn't.
