However, this is assuming Mike Brown is a logical person
Logically, you should be right, but you never know with this organization.
That's the entire point.
It's stupid to run into a thread and claim someone is "making stuff up" when those Tweets absolutely did happen. There is nothing made up about them, they were from Whit's official Twitter page. The opinion on this comes from which side you believe. Was it Whit's wife making a joke to his teammates, or is Whit covering his tracks now after realizing it was probably a bad idea to make that public?
If you look at the facts, Whit and/or his wife haven't been known to "joke" like this ever before, so why would this happen now? How many pro athletes own their tweets compared to how many claim they were hacked or it was just a joke? Is Mike Brown really going to always do exactly what makes sense in a given situation?
I know some very nice, professional, and just overall amazing people in my personal life, but I've seen them all flip the switch and say some REALLY unnecessary things at least once. Why can people just not fathom that Whitworth was genuinely upset, said something that he shouldn't have out of rage, and is now trying to cover it up like ALL professional athletes do? Isn't there at least some amount of possibility that MB or someone in the organization had a talk with Whit about next season, and then Whit took it publicly when he shouldn't have? I don't know, but there are definitely signs that point to there being some merit here whether it's all 100% true or not. The Tweets definitely did happen though, so nobody "made things up" out of thin air. This all happened recently, it just depends which version of the story you happen to believe.
It's not surprising that a homer troll would paint the picture to look like the FO did absolutely nothing wrong, and it's not surprising that some of the people that don't like MB would do the exact opposite. I honestly believe the truth lies somewhere in between, and I do believe there was a talk between Whit and somebody related to the team, and it's perfectly possible that he was upset about the draft and said some things that he probably shouldn't have.
