It's annoying when you're with a group and one guy goes "Do you have Green Summer Pale Fish Moose Bladder on A Bicycle Ale? No? Oh, well then how about a New Iron Age Tomato Paste Vinaigrette Jet Plane Book Shelf Old Fired? No, ok, how about..."They are far from being trendy, or a fad. More and more Americans are finally getting some taste and flavors in their beer. That being said, I do hate when somebody wants to play 20 questions with me when ordering a beer. I've figured out that it has nothing to do with what my suggestions actually are and more to do with how much they think I know about beer and if they think they know more than I do. I want to yell "just order the friggin beer already Sally!" That being said, I really don't care what you order. You want Bud light? Fine, don't really care.
And there's just as many crappy craft beers out there as there are Budweisers and Natty Lites.
But, with that said, there's a lot of really good, not watered down beers, too. Stuff that's just a basic, good tasting beer that will sometimes have a lot more flavor. I just wish they had a different approach for bringing them to the shelf outside of being trendy. And right now, that's what they are, trendy.
