I believe Hardison will be a better player if he concentrates 100% on DT and gets bigger and stronger. And I would rather have a guy who is real good at one position than one who is half good at two positions.
He is a 3 technique, no matter what he does he will always be Atkins back up and see limited time in some passing downs next to Atkins. With dual purpose, he makes him self more available to get on the field in other situations. I am not sure why you believe it is hindering his development. The coaches that see him every day apparently don't think that.
