Bengal fan. "I am not rooting against McCarron. In fact, I'd like to see him do well because it would help our team. But, I'd just like to see him do something against NFL competition before anointing him as a great NFL starting QB"
Bama fan. "Why do you hate McCarron so much for no reason. Why are you defending Dalton? How can you be so blind? You must be suffering from some sort of mental illness. Where are my sheets?!?!?"
Let me go back through the first couple pages of this thread and help you remember what was said -
Quote:Get back with us after .... you know ... he throws a pass.
Quote:I don't hate him. I don't think he's a very good QB.
And I'm certainly not going to dub him before has thrown even a pre-season NFL pass.
Quote:It's just rare to find a guy who had the talents around him that a guy like McCarron had at Alabama and see that translate to NFL success.
Quote:I can really only speak for myself, but the only reason I bag on McCarron is to annoy the drooling masses that constantly call for him to start after Dalton makes his first mistake of the season. That shit gets tired - especially when we ain't even seen the dude throw a pass against a second or third string NFL defense.
Now what we know is that you've admitted you are a Tennessee fan, and you disliked McCarron, and you pulled the "but nobody's being negative about McCarron!" gag earlier in this thread.
Here's you-
Quote:I am a Vol fan. I hated McCarron in college, but even I am hoping he becomes a good NFL QB.
Yet you seem beholden to the kidnapper of your franchise, Andy Dalton. You continue to downplay McCarron's positive news and pretend you're keeping things in perspective, when
really you're still grinding that axe from college. Let go. Sit back and enjoy it. Let the positive McCarron news wash over you like a tattoo artist linking your arm tattoos together across your chest.
Nobody is "anointing him a great starting NFL QB" right now, I think some people have commented on his potential but we all recognize that it takes experience to improve and it will take experience for him to reach his ceiling. Again, you called out people for making a strawman earlier on this thread, and look at what you're doing. Who has said "AJ McCarron is a great starting NFL QB - right now?"
I'm not a Bama fan. Not everyone who think AJ McCarron will end up being a star in the NFL is wearing Bama or SEC glasses. Just like not every 5th rounder is destined to ride the bench and hold a clipboard.
