Except that they can't even get that right. Teams like Pittsburgh and the old Raiders teams played up to and on the line without actually stepping over it and screwing it all up. They won championships and were lauded for their "toughness" through it all. It's all a bunch of crap, but to the winner goes the spoils. 

This team jumps over the line, loses the game, gets themselves suspended and end up looking like a bunch of idiot screwups to everyone else in the leage; fans and other teams.
