Most NFL teams are getting away from carrying 3 active QB's. If the starter goes down, they can bring one up or in. If #1 and #2 go down in the same game, you just need an emergency type guy to hand the ball off and get out of that game, because a 3rd string QB is not going to bring much to the table anyway.....
