I agree somewhat. Marv has played a lot of rookies, but that's usually when they draft to fill a void. If there's a veteran incumbent, that's when things are a bit more complicated. I think Marv makes rookies jump through hoops to take the job from a veteran.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.
