Rumor was Boston Red Sox were interested....but rumor now says with Cozy on the DL, that cuts down trade chances.
I would not mind seeing Reds resign Cozart. ....but odds are he leaves this winter and Reds get nothing but dumping more payroll.
ADD ON : Cozart and Feldman on DL stay, for now, meaning they are Reds in August and September. Not signed after that at this time.......Left Handed pitcher Cincrani traded for 2 Minor League players. A Utility outfield/ infield guy and a catcher Reds will send to Single A bottom of the totem poll. Cincgrano making a million to two million is a last place team last 3 years cutting some payroll....Cozart and Feldman may soon be more cutting payroll, no longer paid by Reds after September. .....Mesoraco in his last contract year next season. Reds would love to dump that huge payroll due to nothing but injuries, but I do not think any teams will want him at that price. THis does not mean they won't try to trade him for a bag of peanuts. Reds will cut payroll even more after the season. Adding By Subtraction. If they can finish last with them, they can finish last without them.
Price has done nothing to keep his job with 3 last place finishes...but if he is one of lowest paid managers in baseball, Reds may feel The Price Is Right.
