Ehh, I'm not so sure that I completely agree with you on that assessment.  I think that you have to take each situation individually, and weight the outcome and benefit to the teams involved.  For example, Urlacher moved the talent needle much higher than any WR could have, at the time.  Same goes with Keuchly on the Panthers, Killer on the Ravens, etc..
