Expiration date on our core players

As you see, we get the msot in Rounds 1 and 2. It declines sharply after that. This team lets Pro Bowl caliber players leave and touts a compensatory pick. We aren't drafting Pro Bowl caliber guys in the rounds those comp picks come in.

Exactly. Just like in fantasy football, if you whiff on your first and second round picks, you'll be in trouble.
The Bengals also need to get more production out of the later round guys during their rookie contracts if they want to stick to their current offseason talent strategy.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
