I suspect that one of the two (Dany or Jon) will die in the end. JRRM has said that the ending will be bittersweet. Plus, with the way the "Fire Magic" has tended to work in the show (which they will apparently need to counteract the Night King's "Cold Magic") has always required a blood sacrifice.
