2 division titles and 3 playoff appearences in the franchises first 8 years...and that is with losing our franchise QB Greg Cooke. Made both our Super Bowl appearences with him as team president. With Bill Walsh, he formed the basis of the West Coast Offense still played today. But also made one of the worst decisions in franchise history when he chose Bill Johnson to succeed him as head coach and not Bill Walsh.
