They couldn't. They did what everyone here always says they want them to do, they had a competition and the job went to the guys who performed the best, even though one was drafted. Then, they tried to stick Elliott on the practice squad, but he was claimed. There is no way, if you are being fair, that anyone can criticize this. There are more than enough legitimate gripes about this coaching staff to complain about, without this kind of crap.
