I think you will see a real solution for curing baldness soon for no other reason than the current aging population provides a huge monetary reason to do so. In the last year there have been a couple promising studies and results on possible medications to combat it. They have drilled down pretty far in to what causes it other than simply saying "genes" and now that they have a good idea of cause they can look for better ways to fight it. My guess is within the next five years there will be common and effective treatments for it.
