Coaches are going to want to win...with no regard for spending or cost. Mike has to check them on that.
That's why a yes-man (or someone "familiar" with the FO) will be a priority over some new hot-shot that Mike would have to break in and get assimilated to the Bengal way.
IDK Shake. Maybe he does take the easy route and hire from the current staff, but the last time he hired a coach from outside the organization...he lasted for 15 years. Maybe Mike keeps that fact in mind as well? At least I hope so.
