I am curious as to one strategic maneuver:
If the Bengals were going to send additional pass rushers, why was the secondary playing 10 yards off the ball? You know the ball is going to come out hot, press coverage would allow the potential for a turnover. I know Dre Kirk got owned by a WR I have never heard of on cover zero, but at least he had practiced that in a game situation. Why did the DBs play so far off? If you say "vanilla defense", I don't think you understand the question. They were blitzes, but the secondary was almost like: "it's ok, you can dump it off to this guy, I won't be anywhere near him".
