Pollack says "Ogbuehi and Fisher are talented players that need more time to develop"...Fans bake him cookies and call him a genius.
Because Paul Alexander was in charge of developing those players and had three years to do so. It wasn't done. He deserves to be criticized.
Pollack hasn't had that chance yet, so he gets credit for acknowledging it but not criticized because he hasn't had time to work with them.
If he doesn't get anything out of them but the team keeps pushing them out there without drafting/signing replacements, then I'll start to criticize Pollack too.
If a player takes more than three years to develop into something, then A) the player shouldn't have been a first or second round pick, and/or B) the coaching is/was bad.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
