Akili Smith was an obvious bust before he was drafted. Easily the worst draft pick in franchise history, and considering all we turned down to draft the guy makes it even worse.
Sad thing is, my 9 year old self was very excited with the Akili pick. I remember watching the selection with my father and he said to me, "well look at that. You're favorite team did something right for once."

But I bought into the hype hook line and sinker. Anyone with eyes can look back now and see Akili was a one year wonder and a product of the system, like Tony Pike was at Cincinnati and Tim Tebow at Florida.
