With Andy, you are getting a serviceable starter. He is going to win you games, he has a high football IQ (doesn't necessarily always translate on the field), and he is capable of running your offense and being a team leader. There is no reason on earth to settle for anything less than he is worth.

With McCarron you should be getting a second round pick and a conditional third round pick (dependent on play-offs). He proved himself a good backup and worthy of getting a starting shot somewhere.

There is no reason for us to sell low on our talent. Saying we should ask for a 2nd/3rd for Andy Dalton is like saying we should trade AJ Green for a 3rd round pick and a Taco Bell gift card with a remaining balance of $7.34
you misunderstood me
I was just using those figures as an example....I know they were low but didn't want to go the other way either by saying someone would give us a gold mine.....my point was....whatever we get go after the 3 players I named in Rd #1....QB Jackson, #2 OT McGlinchey  & OC Price or OG Hernandez

& I do like A.D. a lot....so it's nothing personal.....give him a good O-line & imo, he could win a SB....
but imo, Jacksons worth going for if we could swing it....
his speed would win games.....& his arm is way stronger than A.D.'s
be better for A.J. Green & Ross....
