Maybe I should've added "usually". Teams don't usually pay guys who have been scrubs. There either has to be potential or past production. Maybe the Cowboys mistakenly saw potential with "Nasty" Nate. Chris Baker was getting paid based on his production over the previous 2 years.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.
