There are exceptions to every rule.  That opponent, in particular, was susceptible to the run game.  Oddly enough, BJGE throughout his career ran well against them (you know this, you've seen the numbers and argued against them as well).  So, he played to lose yet again by not taking advantage of a strength of his team vs the weakness of another.  When the game was still within reach, Green-Ellis was riding the pine.
