Having spent two weeks fishing on Kennabi Lake when I was younger, I get what you're saying. I prefer the cold water fish over the southern trophies any day. It's why I prefer bronzebacks over bucketmouths (though I know smallies aren't indigenous up there) and think nothing is better than fresh walleye. I also love fishing for brook trout.
I really need to take the afternoon off, now.

I love striper fishing, though I've only done it in freshwater with some of the landlocked stripers we have around the state. I do finish off my day of fishing slugging back a couple of these:
A local brewery makes this delicious beer, and part of the proceeds go to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, so I figure I spend my day fishing in the watershed for the bay, I can do my part to help it out.
