In response to the matchup between Sunset's Smashers and the Hugh G. Rections, Smasher's coach Sunset Bengal was quoted as saying "Gee, I thought they'd be bigger." When asked to offer any insight to the game, Sunset added "Their kicker showed a little leg, and their defense was kind of stiff, but we found their primary scoring threats to be rather impotent."
