Kuechly was entering his 4th season. Next year was his option year. Him signing now is akin to AJ signing last season. Kind of curious to wonder why their fans "aren't losing their shit", in an obvious dig directed at our fanbase, when it's a year ahead of us,no?
Would they have been losing their shit if it were next season and he was still without a deal, playing on a 5th year option? Would they have been losing their shit had their team been without holding cap space years in advance and he remained unsigned long-term? Hard to tell. I would guess there would be more questions .
