They were behind 21-nil in the first quarter and were taken out of their gameplan. Ben had 60 attempts, so Im not too concerned about his yardage.
The first game last year against Cleveland, Bell only had 32 yards.
The Steelers couldn't stop the Chiefs. One way to counter that is to pound the rock and play ball control. The Steelers couldn't do that in part because Conner was ineffective as a runner. 17 yards on 8 carries is pathetic. The Steelers had drives where they could have gotten him going while KC was jumping out to their 21-0 lead. They had opportunity to get him going after they tied it at 21-21. However, Conner's poor performance didn't warrant more touches than what he got.
Bell had 32 yards on 10 carries in his first game without going through training camp. 3.2 ypc is pretty mediocre, yes, but 2.1 ypc is just sad.
