I can make up fake definitions of words and tell people they are the very definition of them, it doesn't make them true....except for insanity. Weird how this has been allowed to continue for so long. I blame the schools who don't fail students who continue to use this cliche in their writings.

Fun Fact: Perseveration is actually what people are talking about when they use this misguided cliche.
