I wouldn't say that hasn't happened.

For example, there have been plenty of times we have seen Shawn Williams screw up, next play Fedj is in the game and Williams is on the sideline. 

The major difference, in my mind, is that WR is a six man depth chart, so it is possible to dump a guy to the bottom for screw ups;   Where most defensive positions are only 2 deep...
