Did you have to replace the flange on the sink?

Otherwise I just can't grasp where and why it went haywire on you.

1. Cut power
2. Unhook wiring
3. Unhook dishwasher discharge hose (if there is one)
4. Remove bottom trap pipe
5. Rotate disposal and drop down
6. Install new unit in reverse order
